Holders of valid community college “life” credentials retain the right to serve under the terms of their credential, and are considered to meet the statewide minimum qualifications for all academic positions within their subject matter areas (EC 87355).
The Chancellor’s Office maintains archives regarding issuance of community college credentials. Our service is for those whose credential has been lost, damaged, or stolen. We can only accept a request from the holder of the credential. The records are not automated and are archived offsite. Verification can take up to eight weeks to process.
To initiate the search process, please provide the following information either by fax or mail. Please note that Social Security Numbers are NOT needed.
